UK Government Has ‘Unlawful’ Plans On Air Pollution

You are here: Home / About The System / UK Government Has ‘Unlawful’ Plans On Air Pollution

The UK government has been heavily criticised for the third time by the courts, for failing to produce appropriate plans to resolve the increasing problems of air pollution in the UK.

Ministers are forced back to the drawing board in a landmark judgment to increase their efforts to clean up dirty urban air.

Findings determined that the approach to tackling pollution in 45 local authority areas was “not sufficient”.

Previously, the court heard that 8 years after the UK was found to be in breach of legal limits, levels were still too high in over 80% of zones.

The current policy by the government has been deemed “unlawful” and ordered changes by the high court.

Air pollution has quickly become a leading activism as air pollution is thought to cause as many as 40,000 deaths a year in the UK already.

This is especially true among vulnerable people such as those with existing respiratory problems. But perhaps even worse are the unknown effects on young children.

A spokesperson for the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said, “We will continue to implement our £3.5bn air quality plan to deliver significant improvements”.

If the UK public cannot rely on the government to solve air quality issues, who and what can?

The Ingenious Air® Small Duct System is an intelligent air conditioning system with a multitude of features, one being the reduction of outdoor air pollution inside.

It provides a safe and comfortable indoor environment with clean, purified air.

Furthermore, the optional high specification air purification module removes airborne bacteria and viruses that can cause allergies.

The system can also add up to 100% fresh air ventilation with heat recovery ventilation. This can further improve air quality and save energy.

A Carbon Dioxide (CO2) sensor can be added to create demand-controlled ventilation which measures and responds to the room’s conditions.

You might not be able to escape the polluted air outdoors, but the system can be installed in most property types, including your home, workplace and everywhere in-between.

Some of this information has been extracted from ‘The Guardian – Air pollution: UK government loses third court case as plans rules ‘unlawful”. Read the original article here.
