Damaged health from illegal toxic air

You are here: Home / Indoor Air Quality / Damaged health from illegal toxic air

The government are being sued for not the first, not the second, but the third time, over illegal levels of toxic air. They are urged to act quickly as air pollution continues to take a heavy toll on people’s health.

Fears have been sparked as a barrister said pollution will not fall below legal limits until 2028 in London and 2021 in most other urban areas. The UK government are being asked once again to implement a stricter action plan from the high court. Previous plans have already been deemed illegal and now, lawyers are saying the latest plans still fall short. These failed attempts have already cost over £370,000 of the taxpayers’ money.

Since 2010, nitrogen dioxide pollution, most commonly produced by diesel vehicles, have been illegal in urban areas. Fast forward to April 2016 and cross-party MPs believe this is still not enough and declared a public health emergency.

In 2018, new plans revealed would mean the government would be backtracking, as it’s “clean air zones” would be switching from mandatory status, to “expected”. Additionally, the government’s plans are questionable, as no action is required in over 45 polluted cities and towns including Oxford, Liverpool and more.

In January of this year, parliament had asked “Just how critical does the situation have to get before the government finally starts to comply with the high court rulings?”.

Many private citizens are said to be concerned about the growing problems associated with illegal toxic air and plea with the government to start taking action. Some even suggest looking at simple solutions such as improving public transport.

If the government continue to be unreliable in regard to cleaning up the illegal toxic air, who and what can? The Ingenious Air® System; an intelligent climate control system that has an optional high specification air purification module. It removes VOCs and other harmful pollutants that are naked to the eye. It also removes disease-causing viruses and bacteria, allergens, dust and odours.

Additionally, the system can add up to 100% outside air ventilation with heat recovery ventilation. This can further improve air quality and save energy. At the same time, it provides a safe and comfortable indoor environment with clean, purified air.

Backed by years of experience, research and development, various case studies and installed in trusted brands such as Apple, Subway, Pandora and more, Ingenious Air continues to save the planet – one system at a time.
